Our technicians hold the certifications the specifications actually call for — ACI field certifications and NICET credentials — and our laboratory work is performed under a documented quality system. The result is testing that holds up when the building official, the structural engineer, or the owner's rep asks hard questions.
Accreditation status, stated plainly: the Sugar Land laboratory is not yet accredited. It is in the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation process with A2LA for concrete, aggregate, and soils methods — on-site assessment completed September 2026, corrective actions under A2LA review. The quality system is structured to AASHTO R18 and ISO/IEC 17025, testing is run to the ASTM method named on each report, and field technicians hold ACI and NICET certifications appropriate to their assignments. Running a test to a standard is not accreditation; accreditation is a third party verifying that we do, and we will say when that is done.

What certifications do your technicians hold?
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I and NICET Construction Materials Testing certifications. Nuclear gauge operators complete gauge safety training under the applicable radiation safety program.
Is the laboratory accredited?
Not yet, and we say so plainly. The Sugar Land laboratory is in the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation process with A2LA for concrete, aggregate, and soils test methods: the on-site assessment was completed in September 2026 and corrective actions are under A2LA review. Until the certificate is issued we do not describe the laboratory as accredited. What is true today: testing is run to the ASTM methods named on each report, the quality system is structured to AASHTO R18 and ISO/IEC 17025, technicians hold ACI and NICET certifications, and every report is reviewed before issue. Following a test standard is not the same as accreditation — accreditation is a third party verifying that we do. Ask and we will state the current status in writing on any proposal.
Who are your clients?
General contractors, owners and developers, engineers of record, and public agencies. Under IBC Chapter 17 the owner typically retains the testing agency, and we report to the engineer of record and the building official.
What standards and codes do you work to?
ASTM International test methods for concrete, aggregate, and soils (C31, C39, C143, C231, C136, D698, D1557, D6938, D4318, and the rest of the scope listed on the materials testing page), ACI 318 and ACI 301 acceptance criteria for concrete, and IBC Chapter 17 for special inspection. Laboratory operations follow a quality system structured on AASHTO R18.
